The Accountant (2016)

watched 4/6/24

I liked this one. I don't have a whole lot to say, but the casting and acting was good and the story was interesting. I'm no expert on autism or its portrayal in media but I feel like this did a pretty good job and wasn't so horribly Rain Man about it. The reviews seem to be mixed-positive, at least from what I saw on Letterboxd, but I got invested and found myself reacting to scenes the way the director probably meant for me to. I'm a sucker for well-done action flicks, so I guess it's not a surprise. I do wish there was a little more... intrigue, might be the word? Like it felt like the whole accounting thing was just an excuse for violence later in the movie, so if they had added a little bit of flavor with perspective from the bad guys' side it might have made it feel more whole.
