The Firm (1993)

watched 3/26/24

Tom Cruise and Jeanne Tripplehorn make a very severe-looking couple. It's good.

Found myself watching this on a night I had surprisingly few assignments on the horizon. I should have checked the runtime before putting it on but I enjoyed it. Good acting, good writing, good pacing, good soundtrack. I dunno, I liked it. I like legal dramas and don't hate Cruise as an actor even though in reality he's batshit insane. The 'drama' part of legal drama was laid on a little thick sometimes, but it remained entertaining enough that I didn't mind even though usually I would and found myself really invested by the 1.75 hour mark. And I do love when an Ocean's Eleven style cracked plan comes together beautifully. I dunno, I don't have a lot to say for this one especially considering it's 2.5 hours long, but I did really like it. I wouldn't be surprised if I watch it again at some point.

Cool thing about me is that I started this year with a goal to watch 100 movies. Or at least one a week. Since it doesn't look likely at this point (and yes I know it's only March) I'll at least take what I can give myself when it comes to having fun with it.
